Kill That Bitch (2014)

Kill That Bitch (2014)

Indie horror director Dustin Wayde Mills clearly believes that extreme brutality and a few buck naked chicks make up for the many shortcomings inherent in zero budget film-making. And I'm inclined to agree with him.

Kill That Bitch suffers from a shabby aesthetic (possibly intentionally), not very convincing gore effects, and weak performances, but the film's gratuitous T&A (which starts from the very first scene with some full frontal female nudity) and its relentless, mean-spirited approach ensures that it is never boring. And with a couple of overly-ambitious fight scenes thrown in for good measure, and not one, but two plot twists towards the end (the second of which I failed to guess despite one or two clues hidden in plain sight), it actually manages to be a rather fun watch in spite of its imperfections.

Obviously movies like this aren't going to appeal to everyone, and I doubt that Mills and his pals will be courted by any major studios in the foreseeable future, but I for one am glad that they do what they do: being a horror fan would be far less interesting if all movies were slick Hollywood blockbusters.
